If you're evaluating us, these are the questions we hear most often. If yours isn't here, call the office, we'd rather have the conversation than write another FAQ.
Getting started with Greenwire.
What a new-client engagement actually looks like.
How does a new engagement start?
A 20-minute call, then a discovery meeting on site or on video. We walk through your current environment, pain points, and goals, then deliver a scoped proposal within a week. No high-pressure sales, no multi-year lock-ins to sign up.Do you work with businesses of my size?
We serve organizations from 10-person professional offices up through ~500-seat multi-location businesses. Below 10 seats we're often over-scoped; above ~500 you're likely ready for an internal IT lead we'd co-manage with. How fast can we get on-boarded?
Most managed-IT onboardings complete in 2–4 weeks: documentation, agent deployment, security baseline, and staff introduction. Urgent engagements can compress to one week; project-based engagements (cabling, AV, surveillance) are scoped on their own timeline. What does it cost?
Managed IT is priced based on organization size. Project work (cabling, AV, surveillance) is quoted fixed price after a site survey. We share numbers early, no "we'll let you know" pricing games.
Managed IT & cybersecurity.
Day-to-day IT operations and security programs.
Is your help desk really local?
Yes. Every help-desk tech sits in our Fort Myers office. We don't outsource tier-1 to an offshore call center, a strong opinion we've held since day one. What happens after hours?
Monitoring runs 24/7, and managed clients have an on-call engineer reachable after hours for emergencies. Nobody pays overtime rates for a password reset unless requested.Do you handle HIPAA?
Yes. We run compliance engagements mapped to recognized frameworks and support audit and insurance questionnaires. Specific-to-industry detail lives on our healthcare and legal pages. Will you replace our cybersecurity insurance?
No, we help you meet its requirements and answer its renewal questionnaires. Proper MFA, EDR, backup, and training documentation frequently reduce premiums materially.
Cabling, Wi-Fi & integration.
Low-voltage, wireless, surveillance, access control, and AV.
Are you licensed for low-voltage work in Florida?
Yes. Greenwire holds a Florida EF (Electrical, Limited Energy) low-voltage license; our technicians work to NEC and BICSI standards, and every install is permitted where required.Do you install cabling for new construction?
Yes, pre-wire, trim-out, and final termination for new construction is a core practice. We coordinate with GCs and subs, follow the schedule, and deliver certified test results. Can you work with our architect or general contractor?
Absolutely. We frequently bid through architects, GCs, and owner's reps, and join design-review meetings when specified.Do you support brands we already have?
Usually, yes. We're vendor-agnostic across the major platforms (Cisco, Meraki, Ruckus, Aruba, Ubiquiti, Lutron, Crestron, Control4, Axis, Hanwha, Genetec, Milestone, etc.). If existing gear is supportable, we keep it; if it's end-of-life, we tell you.
Residential estates.
Home theater, whole-home audio, automation, and AV.
Do you work on occupied homes?
Yes, most residential projects are retrofits on occupied homes. Our techs wear shoe covers, lay protection, and clean up daily. We coordinate with housekeepers, property managers, and designers as required.Which automation platforms do you prefer?
We deploy Control4, Crestron, and Josh.ai most commonly, with Lutron for lighting and shades. Platform recommendations depend on home scale, owner preference, and integration with existing systems. Can you maintain systems installed by others?
Usually, yes, we regularly take over Control4, Crestron, Lutron, and Sonos systems installed by prior integrators. We'll audit, document, and stabilize before proposing changes.
Service area & logistics.
Where we work, how we dispatch, and what to expect.
What areas do you serve?
Lee, Collier, and Charlotte counties, from Punta Gorda south through Naples and Marco Island. Our Fort Myers office is central to the whole service area.Is there a travel charge outside Fort Myers?
No trip-charge surcharges inside our normal service area. On-site projects (cabling, AV, surveillance) are quoted with travel already included. What about Hurricane preparedness?
Every client gets a hurricane-season readiness check each May, backup state, UPS battery health, shutdown procedures, and off-site failover plans. We stage replacement gear locally for post-storm dispatch.
